create value. It considers how certain ways of thinking and acting should be universally consistent,

Introduction to the National Shared Service Office - Executive Officer Course
This course was built to reflect the key competencies set down in the Civil Service Competency Framework for effective performance as Executive officer in the National Shared Service Office.
Module 1 - Delivery of Results and Understanding the National Shared Service Office
The first module's focus is on understanding the Strategy, Goals and Objectives of the National Shared Services Office (NSSO) and the role of a Junior Manager/ Executive Officer in delivering on those goals and objectives.
Module 2 - Analysis, Decision Making and Attendance Management
The focus for the second module is using the critical evaluation of data to inform evidence based judgment and decision making to reduce unconscious bias. The module will also cover the role of a junior manager in managing attendance.
Module 3 - People Management and the Management of Grievance & Discipline
Module three will focus on the management of people and teams and the key skills required - delegation, communication, feedback and performance management. The module will also discuss the role of junior managers with handling Grievance and Discipline issues.
Module 4 - Interpersonal Communication Skills, Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills
Module four will focus on the junior managers ability to build and foster effective and inclusive workplace. The module will look to develop key soft skills around assertive communication, active listening and conflict resolution.

Module 6 - Dignity
at Work and Drive for Public Service Values
The final module will focus on providing an overview of the Dignity at Work circular to ensure as junior manager you can create an conducive environment for all staff to thrive and flourish. We will end with how the Civil Services Values can be demonstrated in practice.

NSSO End of Year PMDS Meetings 2020
This course is designed for NSSO Managers and Team Leaders as an aid to preparing for end of year PMDS Meetings with staff.
NSSO End of Year ePMDS Meetings 2021
This course was designed by Maebh O'Connor, HRM Specialist, IPA in partnership with the NSSO Learning and Development Manager Mary Fitzgerald and the NSSO HR Business Partners, Anne Cosgrove, Ashley Harries and Brian Keenan.
The aim is to provide NSSO Managers with insights and advice on Preparing for and Conducting End of Year ePMDS Meetings with staff.
The course is organised in 4 Modules as follows:
Module 1 - Preparing for the on-line end of year review with staff who are working remotely;
Module 2 - Conducting
the on-line end of year review with
staff who are working remotely (How to have a mutually respectful 1:1 online review meeting and
then give your assessment of
performance);
Module 3 - If the rating is Satisfactory the cycle begins again …. what are the next steps in the process?;
Module 4 - If the rating is UnSatisfactory what are the next steps as we move towards adopting the under-performance policy or the employee seeks an internal review?
